SDC Groups

SDC currently run a number of Catechetical and other programmes in different parishes in South London. The table below shows general information about parishes and other general details for each programme. 1. SDC JUNIORS GROUP

A Youth Group with a difference. This is a group for young people who want to come together on a regular basis to be together, join in games and activities but also enrich their knowledge and understanding of our Catholic Christian faith and to find time for reflection and prayer in our circle time.

We meet regularly at least twice a month at the SDC House on Ryefield Road:

Every Second Sunday of the Month after the 12 noon mass (Brixton) until around 5:00 p.m.
Every Third Friday of the Month we meet at Brixton and take the minibus at 6:00 p.m.
Other activities, such as trips and other social activities are also held throughout the year particularly during school holidays.

2. SDC FRIENDS (ASSOCIATE MEMBERS)

Our SDC Friends group is for adults who want to come together to reflect ont he Word of God in the Bible and share in the spirituality of SDC and its founder. Click here for more details about this group.

Some members of these groups also help SDC in our activities with young people in the way they can. Most of our meetings are currently taking place online on Zoom every Friday at 7:30 p.m. Once a month, meeting are held in person at the SDC House, Upper Norwood and streamed online.

SDC House, Ryefield Road every second Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Rosary Parish, Brixton every first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Other activities such as reflection days, trips and other social activities are also held from time to time.

3. CATECHISM GROUPS FOR THE SACRAMENTS

Catechism group

First Holy Communion - Confirmation - RCIC

We lead a number of catechism programmes in a few parishes in South London. These groups are for children and young people who want to prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion, Reconciliation or Confirmation. Groups normally meet in Parish Hall.
