Start a group in your parish

Various groups operate within our SDC society. Contact us if you are interested in starting any of the following groups in your parish or you want to join any of them:

1. SDC YOUTH GROUP

An SDC Youth Group is a group for young people who want to come together on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Every session offers young people the opportunity to gather together for games, chat and just being together. Each session also includes a reflection time or session of around 15 minutes.

2. SDC FRIENDS (ASSOCIATE MEMBERS)

SDC Friends are people who want to share in the spirituality of SDC and its founder. They also meet occasionally to share and reflect about spiritual issues and try to help SDC and its activities in the best way they can. Click here for more details.

3. SDC CATECHISM GROUP (RCIC, FIRST HOLY COMMUNION OR CONFIRMATION)

SDC runs catechism groups for children preparing for First Holy Communion and for young people preparing for Confirmation. Resources including worksheets, lesson plans and other material are available for each programme. Click here to go to the resources page.

4. SDC MEMBERS

People who join SDC as full members are lay people who come from all walks of life and who want to seriously commit to work as catechists through SDC. Unlike members of religious orders, we take no vows but we voluntarily opt to lead a celibate life, to be witnesses of the Gospel message and to be able to give our best to God and the Church. SDC welcomes any queries about setting up any of the above groups in parishes. We would also arrange meetings and training for a group to be set up and provide resources and other assistance as necessary.
