The Lord is well able to rescue the good from their trials, and hold the wicked for their punishment until the day of judgement.

God of tenderness and pity,
Slow to anger and full of love,

Deliver us, O Lord.

From all sin and every evil,
From the hardening of our hearts,
From all bad will;

From the spirit of jealousy and envy,
